I live my life, not your life.

Visited a Music Concert [34th day]

Hi. It's Illinois Panda.

I went to a music concert tonight. It's Punch Brothers' one-man live. Punch Brothers are the quintet of mandolinist Chris Thile, guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjoist Noam Pikelny, and violinist Gabe Witcher. Their style has been described as "bluegrass instrumentation and spontaneity in the structures of modern classical" as well as "American country-classical chamber music." They started the activity in 2006 and have been grown up to the present. (Wikipediaより)

The concert was held at a large concert hall on campus, and the hall's capacity is 500 people, give or take. The hall was almost full. There were only four sheets left when I booked a sheet last week, so the tickets were probably sold out.

As most audiences came in and settled in, the band members showed up on the stage, bringing their instruments. They looked like kindhearted daddies. Their songs are sort of country music, they don't have many lyrics but instead raw sound played by the mandolin,  the violin, the ukulele, the guitar, and the contrabass. And their playing style was unique. They assembled around the one stand mic within a radius of 2 meters and played the instruments and sand toward the one mic. I've never seen such a playing style. Their songs were really comfortable for my ears and made me highly relaxed so that they could bail me out of the tiredness of these weekdays. It was so lovely!

See you.
