Had my hair cut [27th day]
Hello. It's Illinois Panda.
I got my hair cut this afternoon at a hair salon on campus. This is the first time to get a haircut abroad. Because there are many people with a variety of hairstyles in the university because they have really different cultures, and East Asians are a minority here, I worried about if my hair would be afro or something unexpectable lol. In addition, I'm not fond of places I have to speak to shop staff, like a hair salon or an apparel shop. That is why I hesitated to go to a hair salon even though I felt my long hair was a bit uncomfortable. This Wednesday, I couldn't withstand my hair anymore, and I went to the hair salon. But, it doesn't welcome walk-in through, so I made an appointment on the spot. Then, I re-visited the hair salon and got a haircut today. I had a slight anxety and entered the salon. There is a large tidy room inside with fancy ambient music.
A young Korean woman runs the salon, and there was only her of hair stylist when I visited. She told me how I'd like to have my hair look in a polite way and cut my hair skillfully and efficiently. It took around 20 minutes to finish all the process. And, the most important thing, the hairstyle completed was satisfying. I mean she realized how I thought my hair style would look like in my mind. The quality was at the same level as hair salon I go to in Japan. In addition, it costs only $27 to get a haircut, which is really helpful for my wallet. Probably I’m supposed to have my hair cut there while staying in the U.S..
