The Popularity of Japanese Culuture [31st day]

Hello. It's Illinois Panda.

I'm gonna tell you more about the last weekend as I informed you last day. I visited a house of an American man and had a BBQ. I went there in the car with a friend from Turkey and two friends from Taiwan. On our way from the university to the home and back to the university, we had conversations about subjects. What I wanna point out here is the popularity of Japan. I mean, Japanese culture is pretty popular among people across the world. For example, a woman from Taiwan said she has been to Japan many times for sightseeing, and she likes cherry blossoms and Japanese foods. Even though he hasn't been to Japan, the other man from Taiwan also knows about Japanese cultures, such as Omaturi. I know that people from East Asia are familiar with Japan. Also, a man from Turkey knows of Tokyo and a basic idea of Japan, including that Japan has prefectures. Besides, all of them are really interested in Japan and its culture and asked me a lot. I didn't imagine foreign people knowing and interested in Japan like this, though Japan has a unique culture. The Illinois university has a "Japan house" with Japanese rooms and a yard with cherry blossom trees. Considering that there are no houses with a country name other than "Japan house," we can think of Japanese culture as prominent in the U.S. In addition to this, one of my Chinese friends and one of my Indian friends have watched "Crayon Shinchan" and "Good Morning Call," a drama that Haruka Fukuhara played the main role in, respectively. The list goes on and on; I should stop right here. Anyway, Japanese culture is more popular than I imagined, and it's really grateful for me as a Japanese.
