Watched Amrican Football 🏈 [14th day]
Hello. I'm Illinois Panda.
Today, I watched a football game for the first time. When you heard football you may imagine soccer, but football means American football in the U.S. It's like rugby but it's actually different in every respect. If you're interested in the rules, please google them and watch a rule video on youtube, because I can't explain the rules to you, sorry. Though I don't understand more than half of the rules, the game was very fun! Football is very popular not only in the professional leagues but also in university leagues. In particular, Illinois university is much absorbed in football and it has a big history of football. The whole university makes most of the football and has the definite pride of their football team. American universities have much more money than Japanese ones. Illinois University has a large stadium called Memorial Stadium on campus, and the games are as gorgeous events as professional soccer games. I was surprised by that.
海外でスポーツの試合を観に行ったのは初めての経験だったのですが、やはりアメリカの応援は想像通りの盛り上がりっぷりでした。今回はホームの試合だったので、スタジアムがオレンジ（イリノイ大のカラー）で埋め尽くされて、イリノイチームのプレーひとつひとつに大歓声、一方相手選手の入場や好プレーのは大ブーイングしていて、まあその光景は昔の甲子園球場みたいだなあと思って面白がっていました。まあ僕も周りに乗って騒いでたのですが。（ちなみに、平成生まれが昔の阪神を知ってるわけないだろという指摘は当たってます。）試合の開始前や合間にチアリーディングやマーチングバンドの演奏があるのですが、まあそれも圧巻でした。試合はイリノイ大がネブラスカ大に30-22で勝って、すごい楽しかったのでまた行くかもです。
