Quad Day [8th day]

今日のお昼ごはん（美味しそうに見えないね、味はedibleという感じでした）

Today, a big event was held in Main and South Quad (really large yards). It is Quad Day. More than a hundred organizations and clubs joined it and they invited students to their institutions. It is like サークルオリエンテーション in Japan. A large number of students regardless of their grades participated in the event to take part in clubs seeking enjoyable campus lives.

I also join Quad Day. As I arrived at Main Quad, I was overwhelmed by a lot of tents, big sounds. the large lumber of people, and their enthusiasm. A marching band and cheerleaders marched around Main Quad, went to a stage, and play songs with big sounds. It was a splendid parade.

While listening to the parade, I strolled around Quads and looking for some interesting clubs. At last, I was enrolled in 7 clubs by far, though of course, I'll decide on one or two clubs to join later. Here, I introduce 2 interesting clubs I enrolled in.

一つ目は"The Beekeeping Club"という団体。その名の通り蜂の生息環境を保全する活動を行っている。蜂に関する勉強やグループディスカッションもやってるらしい、謎。こんなマニアックな団体なのに結構人気あるみたい。金髪美女が蜂のコスプレしながら勧誘してて、「どっかのインカレテニサーで似たようなもの見たなー」と余計なものを思い出してしまった。二つ目は"Illini Ridgebacks Quidditch Team"という団体。クィディッチと呼ばれるスポーツをしています。「へークィディッチなんて知らなかったなー、面白そう」と思って話を聞きにいったら、ハリーポッターのあれだよと言われ、すぐに合点が合いました。賢者の石でポッターたちがほうきに跨って飛びながらボール投げあってるアレでした。今調べたら競技人口が世界で2万人くらいしかいないです。めっちゃ興味あるので明日体験練習会に行ってきます。
