Very Nice Dining Halls [3rd day]
Good evening. I'm Illinois Panda.
Today, I'm gonna introduce a dining hall to you. There are several dining halls on campus and I can have breakfast, lunch, dinner there. I purchased a meal plan, so I have a limited number of meals a week.
I've visited one of them at lunch yesterday and dinner today. It is called Ikenberry Dining Center. And, I was surprised by how convenient and nice there is.
I enter the dining hall only by scanning or tap my student ID card in a machine like Gakupass. It isn't needed to pay money at the place because the meal fee is connected to my student banking account. So smart. Dining Halls on campus provide their food in a buffet style. You are free to take any food you prefer with no limitation.
I was stunned by how much food there is. The dining hall has many kinds of pizza, pasta, salad, meat, cakes, and a beverage station. Before coming to the campus, I imagined that American food is not nicer than the Japanese one, so I didn't expect it. But I was wrong. Although, generally speaking, the taste of the food in the dining hall is not as good as the one in Japanese restaurants, it is at the same level as Komaba Dining Hall, and the quantity and variety of the food are much greater than Japanese university dining halls.
By the way, I ate two cakes at dinner and they are hurting my stomachache. Too bad... I continue to report foods in the U.S. in my blogs.
今日は食堂のご紹介でした。日本の食堂とは全然違ってホテルのバイキングのようで一人で興奮してしまいました（笑）日本語を書いているときの方が圧倒的に楽なのですが、英語パートを書いてると時間と労力が持っていかれてしまうので、必然と日本語パートが短くなってしまいます、、、。今日も手続き的なものをずっとしていました。こっちに来てから（わかっていたことでしたが）英語の能力が著しく足りておらず、特にリスニングに大苦戦しているので、暇な時間はずっと英語の勉強をしております。授業が始まる前に、ある程度耳を英語に慣れさせねばと思っています（笑）
